mrs. neal's not-so-conventional MEDITATION [CLASS] for TEENS...

...the book and the recorded meditation

CHAPTER 32: RANDOM COMMENTS and TIDBITS…

What happened in the past that was painful
has a great deal to do with what we are today,
but revisiting this painful past can contribute little or nothing
to what we need to do now.

– William Glasser

There is a pile of papers on my desk with lots of notes, and questions and comments from my students — including all those notes I took with information they wanted me to be sure to include in this book.

As I was looking through that pile, I realized that there were a few things I either didn’t address someplace else in this book, or there just was not a logical place to address them.

So, I set aside this chapter for those things that I didn’t cover adequately elsewhere...

A frequent question I hear from my students is, “How do you use meditation, Mrs. Neal? How does it help you?”

My best answer — prayer.

I always begin each day with a meditative prayer. I cannot do what I do, or keep the schedule I keep, without healthy doses of Divine Guidance!

I meditate occasionally other times during the day — especially when I am in need of a little focus or direction.

On the topic of Divine Guidance, when I feel that I am being directed by the “Big Guy” to do something — regardless of what it is — I never question it; I just do it.

My entire program — mrs. neal’s not-so-conventional meditation class for teens — as well as my InnerTeen CD and this book all came into being as a result of His direction, and the encouragement and support of my students.

I spend a lot of time in my classes cautioning students about the type of music they choose to listen to, mainly because so many young people choose to listen to what I refer to as pure evil (my opinion).

A common belief is that Satan — who was one of God’s favorite angels — also was the angel of music. Because I am a Christian and I believe what I read in the Bible, I believe that Satan is in a battle with God to win as any souls as he can.

It seems logical to me that Satan would pervert music and use it to corrupt young people — who can be more easily manipulated and misled. There is so much evil being spouted through the lyrics of some of the more popular music — so much hatred and violence — where else could that come from? Again, it’s just my opinion, but I think it’s worthy of consideration.

It’s always been interesting to me that even when other areas of my life are in shambles, this program always seems to be Divinely guided, and blessed.

— ♦ —

I realized long ago that kids needed tools that made sense to them, tools that they could use to gain some control in their lives. So, I designed my program specifically for teens, to equip them with a few healthy tools they can use — now and in their future.

To Contact Me:

I do have a website with lots of information — mostly for my students — and I encourage you to check it out. I also have no problem sharing my e-mail address with students.

Website:            www.blessingsfound.net

E-mail:               mrsneal@blessingsfound.net

NOTE: For those of you who have a copy of my InnerTeen CD (with the purple cover), do not use the contact information found inside the CD cover— it is not monitored and will not get to me. Use only e-mail address above if you want to contact me!

I do respond to e-mails from students, usually within a few days. All I ask is that you write either “student” or “meditation” in the subject line so I don’t delete your message (I get a lot of junk mail).

By the way, I do not text, instant message, or use any other instant social media communication. This is one of the things I choose not to do to keep my personal stress levels down.
